This summer Prysmian supported communities local to the construction of Eastern Green Link 1 (EGL1) by donating £1,000 towards the annual European Land Art Festival in Dunbar, East Lothian.
The festival is Europe’s largest gathering of land artists and stone stackers, and brings together creatives, families and visitors to celebrate art created from natural materials. Participants use stones, sand, driftwood and other natural elements to produce temporary artworks that highlight the beauty of the local environment.
The donation from Prysmian helped to cover essential festival costs, ensuring the event remains accessible and safe for visitors. By supporting the festival, Prysmian helped create opportunities for residents and visitors of all ages to engage with nature, explore their creativity and enjoy one of East Lothian’s most distinctive community events.
Festival attendees travelled from across the UK and internationally, including Denmark, Norway, Nepal, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands and the USA. Families, artists and community members particularly valued the opportunity to learn new skills, engage with the environment and connect with others through shared creative experiences.

EGL1 is a multi-billion-pound project is being developed through a joint venture between SP Energy Networks and National Grid Electricity Transmission.
Once complete, EGL1 will play a vital role in strengthening the UK’s electricity network. It will help to transport green, renewable energy efficiently across the country and supporting the transition to a cleaner, more resilient energy system.
