A1 and Skateraw Path reopens to public – June 2026 Update
We're pleased to confirm that the path between the A1 and Skateraw near Torness has reopened to the public and will remain open while construction activities continue in the area.
Following a review of our site operations, we have introduced additional safety measures to help keep the route accessible for local residents and visitors.
The path reopened on Tuesday 16 June and will remain open until further notice. Access will be maintained at all times, including evenings, overnight and weekends.
To support the safe use of the route, an onsite banksman will be present during working hours between 7am and 7pm, Monday to Sunday. They will guide vehicle and machinery movements where these occasionally cross the path.
These measures will allow the route to remain open while construction work continues nearby.
The safety of the public and our workforce remains our main priority. We will continue to monitor site operations and access arrangements and will provide further updates if anything changes.
Contact cards are available from members of the onsite team for those who have questions about the project or ongoing construction activities.
