In May, members of METLEN Energy & Metals, one of Eastern Green Link 1 (EGL1)’s principal contractors, were invited to Kepier Academy alongside local employers, colleges and training providers to take part in a mock interview event for pupils.
The event formed part of Kepier Academy’s curriculum, designed to help students understand how to create a strong CV, complete application processes and develop effective interview techniques. Each student took part in a 20-minute mock interview, after which they received both verbal and written feedback on their interview performance and CV.
The experience gave students the opportunity to take part in a realistic interview environment, helping them build confidence ahead of future education, training and employment opportunities. The sessions enabled pupils to practise answering interview questions, presenting themselves professionally and developing key employability skills.
This activity is part of EGL1’s wider commitment to supporting local schools and helping young people prepare for life beyond the classroom in the communities where it operates.
